What is Sponsorship?

A company backs your first step

Company sponsorship means a shipping company or manning agency selects a candidate and supports their entry into a seafaring career. The exact support, terms and conditions are decided by each company.

  • A company invests in you

A shipping company selects you and supports your entry into its fleet.

  • Training & onboard experience

Depending on the company, support may include training arrangements and an onboard training berth.

  • A clear career start

You begin your career with a company that knows you, with a path to grow in rank.

Sponsorship terms (training, costs, bonds, onboard berth) differ from company to company. Always read the offer carefully. Our team can help you understand it.
