These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to the website samudragyan.com and to all courses, bookings, enquiries and services offered by Samudra Gyan Marine Academy ("Samudra Gyan", "the Academy", "we", "us"), run by the Baba Kaal Bhairav Ji Educational and Social Charitable Trust.

By using this website, sending an enquiry, booking a course or joining a batch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.

• Student / Candidate / You – any person who enquires, books, or attends a course at the Academy.
• Course – any DG Shipping–approved training course offered by the Academy.
• Booking request – a request submitted online or offline to reserve a seat in a batch.
• Seat confirmation – confirmation of your seat by the Academy's counselling team.

Our courses are conducted as per the approval and guidelines of the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), Government of India. Course content, duration, batch dates and timings may change because of DGS directions, regulatory updates or operational reasons. Registered students will be informed of any such change.

Regulatory rules can affect your career route. For example, under DGS Order No. 12 of 2026, from 01 August 2026 a CDC is no longer issued solely on the basis of completing the 5 Basic STCW courses. Students are responsible for checking their own eligibility for CDC and employment.

• You must meet the eligibility criteria for your course (for example age, education, medical fitness, INDOS and previous certificates, where applicable).
• All documents you submit must be genuine and valid. The Academy may refuse or cancel admission if any information or document is found to be false, incomplete or invalid.
• Admission is final only after document verification, fee payment and seat confirmation.

• An online booking or enquiry is a request, not a confirmed admission.
• After you submit a booking request, our counselling team will contact you by phone, WhatsApp or email to confirm the course, batch and seat availability.
• Seats are limited per batch and are allotted subject to availability.
• By submitting a form, you agree that we may contact you about your enquiry or booking.

• No payment is required at the time of an online booking request. The course fee is payable only after our counselling team confirms your seat, as instructed by the Academy.
• Fees shown on the website are per student, per course, and may be revised. The fee applicable at the time of seat confirmation will apply. [Confirm whether fees include GST.]
• Special discounts, if any, are offered at the Academy's discretion and may be withdrawn at any time.
• Pay only at the Academy or through official Samudra Gyan payment channels and always collect an official receipt. The Academy does not work through agents and is not responsible for payments made to any third party.

Requests to cancel or move to another batch must be made to the Academy as early as possible. Refunds, if any, are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

If the Academy cancels or reschedules a batch, students will be offered an alternative batch or handled as per the Refund Policy.

• Full attendance is required to complete a DG Shipping–approved course. Missing sessions may mean you cannot complete the course in that batch.
• Students must follow the Academy's dress code, timings, safety rules and instructions of faculty and staff.
• Misconduct, indiscipline, use of alcohol or prohibited substances, or damage to property may lead to removal from the course without refund, in addition to any other action.
• Practical drills and assessments are compulsory. Certificates are issued only after successful completion and assessment as per DGS norms.

• Courses include physical and practical training such as fire-fighting, sea-survival and first-aid drills.
• You must be medically fit and must inform the trainer of any illness, injury or medical condition before training.
• You must follow all safety instructions and use the protective equipment provided. The Academy takes reasonable care during training; students are responsible for following instructions.

• Course certificates are issued in the name and details as per your verified documents, following DGS procedures.
• Requests for correction must be made with supporting documents. Charges, if any, will be informed in advance.
• Certificates may be verified by DGS, employers or authorities.

Any career guidance, placement assistance or sponsorship guidance provided by the Academy is support only. The Academy does not guarantee a job, placement, sponsorship, salary or CDC. Selection depends on the requirements and decisions of shipping companies and authorities, vacancies, and the candidate's eligibility, documents, medical fitness and performance.

• We try to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but it may contain errors or become outdated. Please confirm important details (fees, batch dates, eligibility) with our team.
• All content on this website, including text, logos, images and design, belongs to the Academy or is used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without written permission.
• You must not misuse the website, submit false information, or attempt to disrupt its working.

We collect and use your personal information (such as name, mobile number, email, INDOS number and course interest) to respond to your enquiry, manage bookings and admissions, and communicate with you. Please read our Privacy Policy for details.

To the extent permitted by law, the Academy is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or our services, or from changes in regulations, batch schedules or third-party decisions (such as employers, sponsors or authorities). Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

This website may link to third-party websites (for example, DG Shipping or social media). We are not responsible for their content, policies or services.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website or our services means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at [Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – confirm].
